Nick Wenger is a Montreal-born, Los Angeles-based comedy director specializing in visual storytelling, mild absurdity, and medium-sized confusion.
He’s directed award-winning work for brands like Visa, Chevrolet, Durex, Nestlé, Pepsi, Johnny Walker, and Twitch. Along the way, he’s collaborated with Jim Carrey, Keegan-Michael Key, Susan Sarandon, Kal Penn, Josh Duhamel, Rachael Ray, and—arguably the most versatile of them all—Crystal the Monkey.
Since earning his MFA from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, his projects have surfaced everywhere from the World Cup in São Paulo to the Cannes Lions Festival. He has collected honors including the Panavision New Filmmaker Award, the W3 Award, and the Communicator Award, which his parents still politely pretend to understand.
His short film The Kid played festivals, appeared on Amazon Prime and DirecTV’s ShortsHD, and became DUST’s most-viewed stand-alone release on Facebook, where 60 million people accidentally (or intentionally) clicked “play.” The film is now serving as the launchpad for a feature in development.
In his free time, he enjoys reading Wikipedia articles, playing the accordion, and painting along with Bob Ross.
